First of all my apologies if this topic has already come up but I searched for FuntKlakow and nothing was found.

There has been a large scale attack on phpbb forums by a bot called FuntKlakow
which has registered in thousands of forums including mine. Most commentators assume that itīs just a spambot. However, I am curious what the bluehost stance is on this issue?
If any of the administrators want to take a look at my forum Iīll pm you my url.

Please contact me sooner rather than later as I am growing a bit itchy about this issue and am planning to deinstall my forum, as it doesnīt have any users, and switch to SMF.

Regards

Max

Thanks for the offer AncientStorm. Itīs good to know that there is a strong SMF community at bluehost. It looks as if SMF is more resistant to attacks than PHPbb.

For other reasons I switched from PhPBB to SMF (the SSI functionality is really cool). The switch was very easy. If you are thinking about it, poke around the SMF site and learn about it. They have some step by step instructions for converting.
