Fad or fabulous - Lighttpd

http://www.lighttpd.net/ seems to have established itself as an alternative
to the apache webserver. I know we cannot use it here but does anyone have
experience with this server?

I have had limited experience with it. As far as I can tell its ever so slightly faster (I didnt test on an enterprise environment, might perform better then). The only problem as I see it is that php can only be used via CGI and theres a couple security issues with that, so I'm happy with things as they are until they find a better way to integrate php.
