View Full Version : Who wants PHP 5.1.2?
Just a quick announcement - BlueHost support team is making a list of all the people who want the new version of PHP - 5.1.2. As it turns out there's already a lot of people on that list, but not enough to get the new server. So, if you want to get 5.1.2, open a ticket (http://helpdesk.bluehost.com/kb/index.php?x=&mod_id=4&q=1) and request to be added to that list. The more people, the better the chance of getting that server!

What's the benefit, or the differences, between 5.1.2 and what's being used now?
What BlueHost offers now is versions 4.4.1 (what most people have), and 5.0.4. The biggest, and perhaps even the only, difference between these versions and 5.1.2 is the bug fixes.
I had a problem with my site when I called the Support Center. The problem could not be fixed with the current versions installed. If they had 5.1.2, all I needed to do was add an extra line to my .php files. But since they didn't have it, I had to rewrite large portions of the code on many of the files.
Many people have to change their code because of that - I think there's about 90 people already on that list...
