Has anyone using Wordpress 2.x had any problems with slow performance and CPU thresholds being reached? I imported a WP2.0 database to BlueHost after installing Wordpress through Fantastico and once I began using it I received messages that my CPU threshold was exceeded. This was with only a couple of people using the site - a site that normally uses about 3GB of bandwidth a day.

Tech support said in a 30-second window I was using 39.8 seconds of CPU (WOW!).

Has anyone experienced the same issue? Thanks...

I installed 2.x a month or so ago and I've had no issues, though I have maybe 1% of the bandwidth per day that you see. Perhaps another issue with indexing?

I haven't had any problems with 2.0 but I didn't upgrade, I installed it straight and tried to take it easy on the graphics and rely on CSS to design it.

The version I installed from Fastastico is 2.0.1 and, since my prior site was 2.0.2, I kept that upgrade.

My database has about 35000 comments and over 600 posts. I'm wondering if that, on top of the traffic, is causing a problem.

Does anyone know about any caching from Wordpress?

www.php-accelerator.co.uk

may help. It caches scripts.

We can install PHP accelerators ourselves? Are you *sure*?
