Hello! (I posted this in Scripting, but thought I'd bring over here, too...)

I just recently signed up and am currently trying to work out a few minor bugs on my site and one major one. This is my first effort and I used Swishmax and Frontpage 2003--both worked very nicely and everything went pretty smoothly except for the fonts. My fonts are fine in the flash portion and fine when I view the finished work from my home computer. I ran the MS WEFT (font embedding tool) and created the EOT files, targeting the url. I see them in my code as style...everything looks the way it's supposed to look, as far as I can tell. But the fonts are not loading because other default fonts are substituting and, as a result, throwing my formatting off.

Has anyone had experience with this here? I installed FP extensions before uploading for the first time and, as I say, everything else is working, including media content and graphics. Only the fonts are not. Is there something else I should try or do? Another way?

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!

i do not know anything about font embedding but i have always been told to never use non standard fonts because of that reason.
try putting a link on the page to download the font, and then once the user has it they can install it and hopefully view your page correctly.

I do know that if a browser does not have the font thats on your page it will default to the nearest font to it.. If you have a not popular font for say headings, you could type out whatever save it as a .gif file and just put that file on your page when creating, that way it will allways be the same no matter what browser views your pages.. im a bit of a novice meself!!

Hope this helps a bit..

have you heard of sIFR ? you can embed fonts using flash. if the user doesn't have flash then it defaults back to your css styling...
