I just signed up woth bluehost and found out that dreamhost.com supports a jabber server by default. Is ther anyway to run a jabber server on bluehost?

I'd really like to see this option, too. It'd make or break my decision to stick with Bluehost when it comes time to renew.

Same way as anything else that is not already included. Get a dedicated IP address, setup the software, and make sure it is bound to your dedicated IP address.
As long as it doesn't use too many resources and cause issues for other customers, it will be allowed.

Dreamhost was my previous host and I really miss that feature. They had jabber running on the whole machine to get it running with shared IP's.
Really wanted to stay with them since so much was provided but it was too much. Constant failures and everything was so slow. :(
edit:: If you have a gmail account then you can connect to jabber with it. It's nice having your own domain. At least it's not MSN. :p

I was streaming music a few months ago from bluehost using a dedicated IP but now I was told it is against the rules. Is it allowed or isn't it?

I hate to dig up an old post, but does anyone in this year know if any implementations of a Jabber server are possible in bluehost?
