Is my site hacked???

Today when I looked into my public_html folder I found a new folder named smylies and inside it there was 16 .gif files!!! How This happened? Some body hacked my site? If so, how can i prevent this. I deleted that folder. Should I do anything else?

i dont think your site was hacked but just incase change ur pass asap to something with Letters & # like password123456

Those files could have been installed as part of a package you installed. Perhaps someone else here will recognize them.

I have that folder as well, I've installed Roundcube, Viper Guestbook, Calender, and Gallery2. It must be from one of those.

Any way i deleated that folder. I think i have a very good password.
