CraigsList type program

If you were building a site similar to www.craigslist.com (http://www.craigslist.com) what sort of open source program would you use?

I've done some poking around regarding Open Source Classifieds and have not found anything really good. Noha's looks good but has to many security issues and is not maintained. There have been a lot of posts about it on this forum.
You might want to take a look at Geoclassifieds http://www.geodesicsolutions.com/products/index.htm . They have a free version http://www.geodesicsolutions.com/products/classifieds/classifieds_lite.htm but don't know much about it.
I thought Drupal was more of a CMS, rather than a classifieds program.
What ever you find, you might want to check against the National Vulnerability Database http://nvd.nist.gov/nvd.cfm to see if there are known security issues since it sounds like you may be dealing with $$.

Now we'll just see what happens....

The site looks good. You just need to drive the traffic to it now.
Does that program come with a captcha? Otherwise you may end up with a dump full of spam.

Not sure what captcha is so I probably don't have it.

Any advice on what that is and how I can install it?

I am not too worried about spammers right now, but may be in the future.

Great thread... visit Hot Scripts. They have most of the classifieds scripts out there.
Many scripts already come with captcha type programs ready to go.

Just a few sites are:
ikiclassifieds
Noah
Xzero Classifieds
Geoclassifieds

...and there's plenty more. I would recommend one with good support or at least a strong community/forum behind it. I can't imagine trying this on my own.

The prices vary wildly from $50 to near $1000.
