Changing Primary EMail Address

I have recently been getting inundated with span in my primary email mailbox (300+ at a time and I do not use this address at all). The cPanel control of the email accounts does not let me change the name of this account. How do I rename this email address.

Just a shot in the dark, but what happens if you go to the Control Panel, Email Manager, Email Filtering, Add Filter, and create a filter that says that anything addressed to mydomain@mydomain.com gets discarded?

If that works, of course, you can just create a new POP email account to use for your "real" stuff.
