What I would recommend in this regard is to rather upload all media via an FTP client (e.g. FileZilla) due to the efficiency and reliability of the same. Then, you can get some or other media plugin from the wordpress plugins page to manage the presentation of your media files. Or... you could just link directly using hyperlinks.
