How many people are on Box 185? I am about sick to death of sending tickets only to have them ignored for extended periods of time and end up calling and hang out on hold starting at the 18th or more caller. I have been with bluehost since it started and this is all the respect I get?
Just think...if you haven't been here long what you are in for.
BTW...I started out on Box 1 if that tells you anything of how long.

Strange, but according to www.domaintools.com, there are only 4 domains hosted on box185. For a point of comparison, there are 983 domains hosted on box92. Not sure what to make of this....

You have got to be kidding me! Well I just got out of support chat (to no avail) trying to get this issue resolved. First they want me to run a tracert which I already had run quite a few and it clearly showed an issue with the box. I ran it anyway to satisfy the guy but of course he says it is between me and there and nothing they can do. Not true. It is the box. So I explain I have four other separate accounts with bluehost each of which are on different boxes and they come up in a snap so it clearly isn't a routing issue between my computer and box 185. Then I am told that php is overwhelming the box. So then I state that I only am using 6 of the 50 allowed databases and am I to assume I would never be able to use the 50 allowed if just 6 would overwhelm the box? No answer. Then he tells me someone is running a script on the box and they can't find who it is to stop it. Now I explain that after being hacked last year I had a rogue script left there and running and I was shutdown on the spot and told if it happend again my account would be deleted. That when that happens all kinds of bells and whistles goes off and it points the finger directly to the account causing it.
Well..imagine that...
I am just going to have to move all my accounts to new hosting. I hate being lied to and I sure hate being treated like I am a moron.
EDIT:
I just checked domaintools.com and unless I did something you didn't it shows me there are 693 domains hosted on this box. What am I missing?
EDIT:
Also...Their new tool is a scam. http://serverstatus.bluehost.com My site will either barely come up right now or not at all but this tool will show me that there are no known issues. I knew it was a cute front to pacify people so it didn't look like it was thier fault.

You think thats bad? I'm on box57 and there are 1039 domains hosted on this box - this doesn't mean there are that many websites since parked domains would show up as well. There are only 723 on my other account, box171.

I don't know the actual domain name of any domain that's hosted on 185, so I searched on box185.bluehost.com, which produces the unbelievable "4" result. I knew it didn't seem even remotely credible!

you used the wrong search i think. You used the one that resolves and truncates the name to just "bluehost.com" and goes from there. Try using this page and use the IP:

So my question at this point would be are these issues happening because BH is now pushing their dedicated IP accounts which cost more? Would that actually take care of the problem since it would still be on a shared box or is it simply because they are overcrowding these boxes and just don't care?
I don't know the answer but I am sick of trying to work on my site and doing simple tasks that should take minutes and it ends up taking half a day or more. The bottom line is that BH is Professional Web Hosting and they should be accomidating it as such for all accounts. I'm starting to feel like I am back at bravenet years ago.

no known issues: status ok
Which at the moment is true. Note I said at the moment though.
However this alert is on there:
updated: 2006-12-15 10:08:30
We're experiencing high mail filter server loads. Mail may be delayed for over an hour before delivery.
It dosen't matter. Even when it says no issues mine was running like junk.

I used the website posted above to gather this info. Thought it was interesting. Keep in mind that all because a domain is there, it doesn't mean a specific server is on there as well.

Exactly how did you use the website you listed? It looks to me from the source code it is only an excel file:
The following information was generated by Microsoft Office Excel's Publish
as Web Page wizard
I don't see anything else on that site to generate such a file.

And nothing has changed yet except now if you submit a ticket it goes into a black hole never to be seen.
I also have accounts on box 166, and box 23 which are the same issues.
