Is there a way to force your users to use a particular webmail client? I don't want to have to answer questions about three different methods, so if I can figure out a way to just have one, that would be ideal.
Also, can we use a different webmail client that I install but one that will allow users to change their passwords?
i was wondering that too.... is it ok to install other webmail client?
for example i always wanted to try this http://roundcube.net/ and see how it works...

Roundcube is actually quite nice. It is also on the list of new features we are testing and one day may roll out (as long as it works well).
As for when, that depends on what other projects take up the developer's time. Quite frankly, I am pushing hard on a new DNS design in order to better handle where we are going; bind is a great caching server, and does fine with fewer than 100,000 authoritative domains, but it starts to become bulky after the six digit level. We're fine as we are for now, but I don't settle for just fine.
oK, rant over.
We'll get to roundcube as soon as we can, and in the meantime, you can setup whatever you want under your account as logn as it doesn't cause issues for other people. (no spamming, phishing, excessive load, memory leaks, etc, etc). We have had customers install their own squirrilmail, etc, but from what I hear it isn't for the faint of heart or those who haven't a clue how to do stuff on the commandline.
oh ok, just installed roundcube and tested it out. it's actually pretty cool!

OK, well the roundcube sounds interesting, if you don't need users to be able to change their passwords.
But I still have my original question: can you force people to use a specific webmail client? Preferably, one that will let them change their password?

Could someone supply some roundcube installation tips for doing it on Bluehost?
I tried to get it to work, but no luck yet.
can I use localhost for the SMTP server?
