Hey,
I was woundering if I could get some advice. I have an idea about building a live local community website. But because I am a novice designer am not really sure how. My question is what software should I use to design the site. Is there a GUI type program rather then strictly programming, or does someone know where there is a good template. Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Pete
Hi,
Why don't you go for joomla? Easy to set up, nice control panel which barely requires any programming knowledge, plenty of contributions and templates.
That's what I would suggest.
Have fun.

We run a community site on a Joomla and Simple Machines integration. I'm no pro and it took me about a day to get it up and running.

I use geeklog It's easy to get running, I can do it in less than 10 minutes now. Fantastico installs it incorrectly though so get it from the project homepage http://www.geeklog.net

I was thinking this the other day but being new to all of this it's still a little confusing

I too heard about this on some forum. Never heard any search engines suggesting or recommending such a thing. It looks weired to me!

There is the ubiquitous rel="nofollow" tag (http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2005/01/preventing-comment-spam.html) which everybody at least in the webmaster community should know about.
