wouldn't it be great to have distribution lists via cpanel. like managers@yoursite.com would go to all your managers. this is very common in ms Exchange servers, but there's really no way to make this happen other than using a ton of forwarders or [gulp] mailing lists??
ahh to dream...

Im not quite sure how that mailing list feature works in cPanel. What Im using is PHP List, and its great for sending newsletters. Available for installation from Fantastico, which is down until tomorrow.

i'm not talking about email blasts that need to be throttled, or a "how to knit" mailing list. i'm just talking internal office stuff. like "developers@yoursite.com" would go to all your software devels, or srmanagers@yoursite.com would go to your seniour managers. this seems to be simple enough to acomplish but i guess not. i at first started with useing mailing lists as a "work around" but this became so bothersome, having to subscribe every user and i'd have to "ok" every email before it when out if you didn't email it so someone that's already on the list. it just sucked. so tech support told me to just use forwarders, which do work pretty nicely but managing them is a pain.

computerCPU, you might want to look at moving just your email to Google. You can host your own email with your own domain at Google. It's really easy to use and set up and I'm pretty sure that you can create distribution lists and a lot of other cool things. All you have to do is sign up and then change your MX record in BH.

go to www.google.com/hosted and sign up and fill in your information including how many users you need. It takes about a day for the request to go through. After that they will send you the information to set everything up. Once you have your account, you go in to bluehosts cPanel and the change the MX record
cPanel >> Email Manager >> Modify Mail Exchanger (MX Entry) >> Change an MX Entry >> Choose the domain and enter ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
That may take several hours for the domain to propagate, but then after that you can set up email account in google.
