Well, I want to develop my first website. I'm a photographe, and a pretty computer savvy, but I don't know a lot about web design and hosting.
I have a few issues that I need to solve, and things to learn before I can develop a good website for myself.
For starters, the BH control panel is a bit intimidating with all of the abbreviations for everything.
Where can I read-up and figure out what all of that is for?
Thanks ahead of time for any assistance . . .

At the bottom there is a Control Panel Manual, on the left side. You probably are better off just clicking on things and learning that way.
Check out http://www.xaraya.com/index.php/base/solutions
Under xarayatized sites there are live examples of websites that use this software...
If I knew about this one, Id move into this direction, but I didnt, and so now I have static content. Check it out, it looks really nice.

I'll leave your cPanel questions to someone else, but I do have one immediate recommendation for you: JAlbum (http://jalbum.net). It's free software that makes it very, very easy to create a website of photographs (it's not a general-purpose page builder). It's almost all static HTML, so you just have to upload your finished pages to BH, and you're off to the races - no server applications to install, or databases to create. No "CPU exceeded" messages.
I'll send you a "private message" with a link to my website, just to give you a taste - JAlbum contains a bunch of very different skins and substyles thereof, so what you see on my site is just one tiny corner of what's available.
