Hi,
I'm thinking about coming to bluehost, but I read about a lot of negative things happening in the last months (downtime, bad support ...).
So what is your experience with bluehost? Is now everything fine?
Thanks for replying! :D

With me, almost no downtime the last months, but With 250 servers there's always a chanche you get stuck on an unlucky one.
Support is good as long as you use live chat.
But I hardly ever need support nowadays :)

I've been here over a year and have had no problems! For $7 a month it's hard to beat for bandwidth and storage. If you are planning high CPU usage though keep in mind it's cheap because it's a shared system. BUT like I said I have no complaints :)

There were certainly some rocky patches for a while, as BH grew faster than they could handle. They seem to have gotten over that, now, and things have been pretty steady for the last few months.
siguie's comment about high CPU usage is important - that's the one area where there are still regular complaints. I have only static stuff, so I have no experience with the problem. Theoretically, if you optimize your code and your databases, you won't have a problem, but some users report running into high CPU cutoffs when using some pretty simple stuff, so some caution is called for.

Bluehost have improved a lot recently, they are one of the better hosts around, and what you get for the price is very hard to beat, when you have hundreds of thousands of accounts (as does Bluehost) you will get some complaining, I have found them to be excellent generally.

I joined in November last year and apart from a couple of hours downtime while they were physically moving computers between data centres and had an unexpected connection problem I have had no issues whatever.

me neither its been remarkably good. The service is quite top notch and the plan is amazing. When I first joined we only got 50GB HD and 15,000 bandwidth and compared to other hosts that was great. Than i kept noticing the plan going up. Great I am totally loving BH

I've been with Bluehost for over a year and I am very happy with the service. Except for one time earlier this year, the only downtime I have experienced was when they were making bandwidth improvements. The features are great and as my needs have grown, Bluehost has always had the features I needed. I'm keeping an eye on the reports I see here about people running into CPU limits, but so far I haven't had any problems. Just keep in mind that you're on a shared server, and use caching or some other strategy to minimize your use of the CPU.

I've been here since June '04 and couldn't be happier. For the space, the bandwidth and phone support (the few times I've needed it) you simply can not beat the price. Chat support is also good. I recommend Bluehost absolutely! And, no, I'm not getting paid to say this:p - I'm just a true Bluehost fan!
Hope you decide to join us. :D

It seems to me that everybody is quite satisfied with bluehost and the downtimes in January is nothing to worry about. I think I'll try my luck :D

I signed up for bluehost later on in february, I'm never going to change host. Their support tickets resolve problems quickly and without any recurring problems (hell, my mail server was accidently deleted (my fault, I think) within 20 minutes of sending a ticket I received a response, within the hour everything was back online and working again :D)
