Adding A FORUM to my site

I was just about to have Fantastico install the SMF Forum, when I decided I might very well be creating a Forum-only website if I don't ask what to do here.....

Right now the site is basically a WP-based site
www.coachoftheairwaves.com

I want to ADD a forum which would not hamper or involve itself with the WP, but that would still be part of the site structure....
ex: www.coachoftheairwaves.com/forum or something similar

So when I was about to install, I wasn't sure what to do here:

Installation location:

Install on domain: coachoftheairwaves.com

Install in directory:

Leave empty to install in the root directory of the domain (access example: http://domain/).
Enter only the directory name to install in a directory (for http://domain/name/ enter name only). This directory SHOULD NOT exist, it will be automatically created!

So that the forum doesn't become the MAIN page of my site, but just another page on the site which I can create links to in the WP pages, should I be entering something in the "Install in directory" section??

yes, in the Install in Directory field, you'd put "forum" or whatever you'd like
