Is it just me or is the Control Panel unbearably slow? Evidently I am on "box12," because if I go to 67.138.240.12/~uname I get redirected to box12.bluehost.com. Is it just box12 or is it others as well? Is the "Server Load" on the "Server Status" page indicative of the load average reported by uptime? If so, wouldn't a constant 5.67 be a bit high?

Have you called them yet? Call them and ask, I'm sure there's a reasonable explaination. An upgrade or minor problem or something. :)

Actually, I mentioned it to someone on the phone yesterday. But the guy I was talking to was not really comprehending anything else I was saying so I gave up on the conversation.

My CP seems as zippy as ever. What box are you on?
Edit. Heh, I'm a genius ;)
Box 85 is alive! No troubles there.

Ehh, the control panel on box 65 seems ok right now, but web/email do sometimes slow up a little. Was a little surprised to see:
load average: 5.43, 6.97, 8.05
load average: 8.51, 8.05, 8.28
load average: 6.89, 7.68, 8.14
Not a big enough deal to want to say anything officially though.

Edit: Added additional load averages a few minutes apart.

I'm not talking about occasionally. I am talking about all the time. Something isn't right. Regular web serving (e.g. pulling up my domains) is just fine. It is just the Control Panel that is slow.

I haven't run into too many problems with cpanel running slow. However, it does run on port 2082, which is not a "normal" port. I would attempt logging into your cpanel through:
http://login.bluehost.com
You can access your cpanel on the standard port 80 with this address. If this seems to help, your firewall maybe be filtering, or attempting to blocking the standard cpanel port.
If you still have problems, give us a call.

I hadn't thought of that. Now that you mention it, though, I do mostly use it while at school/work (same place). I know for a fact that bandwidth is limited on odd ports. I would bet this is the problem. I will check it out tomorrow. Thanks.
