Can someone remind me of the spell to use use Windows Explorer for FTP? I can log into BlueHost Control Panle, but when I try to open the page in Windows Explorer it fails, presumably because my password isn't stored.

Somewhere in the link there should be a place to store the password, with a colon IIRC, I just can remember the format.

Try using FileZilla for FTP. It is free and works great.

AMEN!
It is like having your bluehost account on your local machine. Copy, Paset, drag-n-drop, delete, create, all in a very familiar looking environment.
It now works under OS X as well.

I went to the site and it looks like the OSX version is the beta for PPC, is this what you are using? I'm working with cyberduck on OSX.4, it works ok, but I'm looking for better options.

Forget IE for anything, what a dog browser...no offense bobdog.:)

Or you can use NetDrive. I didn't care for it but some might like it.

UPDATE: this is from the same page:

you can map an ftp or webdav server as a network drive in XP without having to use any such tool - it's built into the OS! from My Computer, find "Map Network Drive" in the Tools menu. a window will pop up asking for a drive letter and a folder, and at the bottom is a link reading "Sign up for online storage or connect to a network server." click that link, select "Choose another network location" from the Add Network Place Wizard, and follow the wizard's prompts to add the location and login information. simple.

I tried it and it's actually kinda slick. Gives you drag and drop from Windows Explorer plus everything else available in Explorer.

I'm on a newer intel-mac with osx 10.4. Filezilla is beta, but it seems to work just fine for me.

the format is ftp://username:password@ftp.domain.whatever

I don't believe that FTP works in IE7, however now. To bypass that just open a normal folder and in the address bar type that in.

I don't believe that FTP works in IE7....Pretty much correct. You can enter FTP info in IE7, but it just kicks you over to Windows Explorer, so you might as well go there directly.

If you don't see an address bar in Windows Explorer, right-click in an empty area on the menu bar, and choose Address bar.
