does anyone here know how to defense the cc attacks?

my website is under cc attacks now. the admin checked connections and told me that there are more than 400 connections one hour ago and system log shows: root@box132 [~]# tail -1000 /var/log/domlogs/global_log | awk '{print$2}' | sort | uniq -c | sort -rn | head 954 www.aobo.com.au ... 954...

so BH have to deactivate my account till the connections drop.

is it possible to know who did that?

and is there any method to protect website from cc attackings?

thanks a lot.

ok well you were most likely ddosed which is when zombies/bots/botnets try to basicly connect to you or website. there can 1000's of of botnets in a attack. so i think this is what happened to you.

The last 3 days some site on my server faced the same problem I was told.
Not only the attacked site was down, the entire box died during those hours.
BH told me they were trying to ban the attacker IPs.
It would certainly totally suck if your site has to be taken down temporarely, but if Bluehost doesn't do anything there will be a 1,000 sites down during the attack.
In this case you should file charges at the attackers and have the FBI sort it out or whoever is responsible for those cyberattacks in your country...

meh you will not find the person who did this...anonymizers will mask/hide his ip through a proxy.
