Is my outgoing ftp blocked by a firewall? If so, how can i unblock it?
Thanks, Matt

Never mind - didn't read carefully enough!

That's an interesting question.
I picked an FTP site and ftp'd to it from home to verify it lets me connect.
Then logged into a shell on my BH server via SSH and tried from there.
This is the response:
ftp: connect: Connection refused
I didn't follow what you're trying to do, but there does seem to be something limiting outgoing FTP.

Yes, I hadn't read carefully enough to pick that up. It does appear that the original poster is running FTP from the server, not from home, which does radically alter the picture. Ignore my earlier post - if you're trying to run FTP from a BH server, you'll have to talk to them about why you can't get out.
