Hello every one.
i m new to bluehost and I had no problem creating my website:
www.merkurpower.com
how ever I need now to create the mail server that would allow people to log on and check their mail.
I ve been pulling my hair for days now.
I finnaly installed Joomla but I still can't manage to do it!
I also had issues with the forum so I used a another host for it, and until i figure it out it will stay there.
BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT NOW FOR ME IS TO GET A WORKING MAIL SERVER.

SO if any one can help I will be delighted.

ps: being in Africa I cannot call hotlines.....

EUREKA!!!!!

Ok I chose squirrelmail and here is how i did it:
1- on the squirrelmail web site i downloaded the file on to my site directory.
2- I copied the file onto my web directory.
3- I printed the instalation file that came with the package.
so now I m able to log on from my page.

THE PROBLEM NOW IS:
I cannot send nor receive mail

Can someone help??????

Why don't you just use the squirrel mail that comes standard with your hosting account? It's already setup along with Horde and NeoMail and can send or recieve mail.

If you go to www.yourdomain.com/webmail (obviously change yourdomain to your own personal domain!!) you will get a logon prompt for the webmail. If you logon with an email address that you have created for the domain you can then use Horde, Neomail etc to view and send emails correctly.

This is a lot simpler than setting up a new version of Squirrelmail yourself!

Just put the link "www.yourdomain.com/webmail" in your webpage like bb30 said. Then go into your Control Panel click on Email Manager and give each person an email account. Then send each person their email address and password and when they click on the link they'll go to their email system. With the Email Manager you can control pretty much every aspect of all the accounts! :)
