View Full Version : Existing customers get an upgrade?

I keep wondering if the existing customers will get the additional hosting space as the new customers are getting now when they sign up: switch from 4gb to 10gb, additional allowed bandwidth to match the 250gb that is offered to new customers, and so on. Do we have to wait for one year since signing up to get these goodies? I would hope we get them, becaue one thing that really annoyed me with my previous host was that they increased hosting space more than double after I signed up, and they kept my storage quota at 500mb for two years, and kept on spamming me to buy another hosting account for half price, so that I can enjoy more space, but all I wanted was to get what the new customers are getting when they sign up, and to keep my old account.

You won't see any of this funny business happening here. Since they released the upgrade, it is available to all users. Especially current members as an added perk. All Bluehost accounts, new and old, get the new features.
Just open a support ticket and ask for the upgrade and they will set you up at no additional charge. ;)

Yes, you do.
Basically, just email support@bluehost.com and ask for it.
The one caveat is that if you are on one of the older servers, they will have to move your account to a newer server, which can cause about four hours of outage due to the DNS propagation delay.

Sweet! I knew BlueHost wouldn't disappoint me :) It's not that I'm running out of space or bandwidth, I was just currious. Good to know. Thanks!

Or in rare cases a whole week, like my site :/

BlueHost is good about accommodating their clients. It shouldn't be too hard to get your upgrade. :)

If it takes much longer than the support guys say, call them back. We cannot avoid the four hour delay in moving an account due to how DNS works. But much longer than that, and we should be looking at it again. We do not like any downtime, and will do what we can to get you back online.

You were down for an entire week?

I got my upgrade, all I did was give them a quick call and less than 3 mins later it was upgraded. :) It's so nice to have a host that is on the ball and who knows what there doing.

Wow! thanks to this thread, I submitted a request to be upgraded (for some reason I thought it was automatic :p ).
Literally, within a few minutes, the job was done!
10/10 for the support staff!

Yup. There's some crazy rules about DK TPL domains, unfortunately, and it took a whole week to get it up (I had to do redirection through another server). :(

Not that I'm overly concerned, but did something recently change? I don't notice any change since I became a customer in November.

The changes discussed in this thread are regarding the increased space to 10GB and that the upgrade is available to new and current accounts. Have you received the upgrade? or are you already there?

Is it just as simple if you've got a fixed IP?
