I am a customer with Blue Host and I would like to build an e-commerce website. Does Blue Host offer those services? I would like to know what would be the fees to build, design and maintain an e-commerce website. My plans are to sell fashion accessories.
I look forward to your response.

Check in your cPanel set up, especially 'Fantastico' folder, and you will find all you need to get into E-Commerce. Even the shopping carts!
I must admit that I did make a mess of setting my cart up though... but then I'm not the brightest jewel in the casket!!!
Best of luck, Nick.

As far as I know, Bluehost doesn't offer any such service, per se. They make a bunch of tools available, as nick106b has pointed out, and they can help you if you have problems using any of those tools, but beyond that, it's pretty much a "do it yourself" operation.

I'm just getting started in setting up an eCommerce Site. I have a lot of data processing experience, but really need some advice.
I'm hoping that someone can steer me in the right direction, or give me some assistance.
I'm looking at using osCommerce, but am getting confused. I need to know if the software/scripts can be customized to support:
Candle Sales with Options for Scents and Colors ?
Additional Vendors
Please respond to this on the forum, or you can contact me at DreamWeyr@mindspring.com.
Thank You

do a search on cart in this forum and you'll find several posts on this subject. by reading them you can find out what BH users think of the various carts they offer in Fantastico. I prefer cubecart because it is not so bloated like oscommerce, although osc seems the most popular. All can be customized to your likings and depending on your level of expertise.

I used OS Commerce, although I downloaded CubeCart first, but then found out my merchant account provider only worked with OS Commerce.
Basically, you need:
1-a program like OS Commerce or Cube Cart or Zen Cart or some other similar program to make your storefront and connect to your card company
2-you need a Merchant account that will give you the ability to collect credit card payments
3-you then decide what products you will sell and get the info and put it on your storefront...
BlueHost has lots of info--
Fantastico will help you download the program for the storefront and there are links to setting up merchant accounts on the cpanel too. Good luck!

I like zen cart. To me it is the best out there. And the support forum is excellent.

Hmm...did you tried the latest version of cubecart? The request password seems to work just find for me. In fact, I just tested it. Have not tried the Tell a friend module but from what I read in the Cubecart support forum, it should have no problem working.
I've tried OScommerce, Zen Cart and CubeCart. In the end, I decided on CubeCart as it offers the simplest of managability and a good interface with plenty of help from the CubeCart community, which has offered me valuable advice, fixes, mods (free or otherwise) to help me get my store going. I am about to go 'live' now and I feel that CubeCart is a darn good product.
I have hig snag in OScommerce (can't even get it started) and Zen Cart (can't get much help from the forum) and CubeCart gives me a very good feel.
Not everyone will agree with me as different people has different experiences, so my take? Test them all and find the one that you feel most comfortable with.
Cheers!

You may try looking at Bluehost Design (http://design.bluehost.com/design/get_free_quote.php), which was recently announced. The link presented in this response is a link to their free quote system. I haven't read too much about it, but it looks like it ranges from pre-packaged solutions to custom solutions (designed to your specs)... either way, it doesn't hurt to get an idea of cost there to compare against your other possibilities... right?

As an SMod on the Cube Cart forum I must say that the development of the cart is always in progress and works well. I have had a store online for 2 years without problems.
@rangermike: If you contact me I'll be glad to help you out.

Hi,
I was wondering if people had compred Yahoo merchant system vs the ones offered here. I think the Yahoo is a great system, but not sure which to choose. I know a lot peole who use it and love everything about it.
Thanks for your opinions,
