I think if people new more about how computers work, then they wouldn't be so frustrated with the problem.....
NASA dose not use window nor dose it use any intel type processor, why cause they are unreliable, they crash, which makes the Mac the best pc out there (or so it was then) which is why movie makers and music producers used mac cause they didnt crash like intel dose and windows (high proformance) now intel will be used inside of the Mac which is really gonna SUCK. now BlueHost is using Linux which is what I have here as well and it is one of the best os out there grante it's not popular like windows but intime it will be. Now regardless what OS your using IT WILL have problems. thers nothing anyone can do about, so it you want to vent go yell at INTEL for maken suck a crapy processor. And the more (bigger to) you try to pull from the server the more it gonna work harder and if 20 people are pulling from one server it's gonna run into problems. like I said it happens.
which lead me into the "Internet".....
considering that im a network specialist lol, if you notice that when you request a file or a web page it's already deliverd to your computer, your computer has to process it and display it, (more memory will help that)
if you on a network look at the little icon on the bottom of the page or look at your roter box the light will flicker fast and then stop (your request is already at your pc) Now I dont care what sbc or comcast or sat or any of them tell you, unless you have a T1 line your sharing your banwith with all your neighbors. Take a look at a spider web and times that by another million lines thats only not even half of what the web is and what your files and web pages have to go trough to you get to you, so next time the server is down just be patient. it'll be back up, and for the record my Linux box (as I call it) has been running for 2 1/2 years stright, never been restarted since then.. thanks for taken the time to read this, I hope it gives you a better understanding on how this work have a great day:D

Pfft try running Ubuntu 6 on 1.6 Tb (8 200gb sata raptors) with 8gb of ram (16 pc3200 512mb modules) running at a combined 6ghz (2 3.0 ghz xeon's) with rock salted ice liquid cooling.
"Nah I just got a dell"
ubuntu is the best, but really the only reason that mac and linux are more secure is that a hacker wants to exploit as many machines as they can. Right now, 70-80% of the market is windows.
MAJORITY is NOT alwasy better.

Intel chips are not the problem. If you have a slow chipset, then that is a problem, but that is true for all chips, not just Intel.
Although Windows is not exactly the best operating system, (and just so you know, I hate M$, they anger me!), it is still the most popular operating system in the world! If you have ever tried to write an OS, you will know how hard it is to get even the tiniest thing to work. I have tried/still am trying, and I have just managed to get a basic GUI layer going.
But, yes, I agree, Windows is slow and unstable.
But Linux is awesome, as is Mac. And Macs run just as well on Intel as they did on PPC. The problem is not the chip. It's the kernel of the OS. Mac and Linux are both UNIX systems, and are POSIX compliant. This is why they don't crash!
And if you haven't restarted your PC in 2 1/2 years, then its RAM must be full, and it will probably be as fast as a paraplegic goat tied to a peg. You also probably haven't installed updates to your OS, as that would require a restart. And your hardware has to be 2 1/2 years old, because you would have to restart to add new hardware.
And to the guy above, 6GHz on a consumer PC is made up.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4261827163265447245&q=5+ghz
That took a large amount of effort to keep running for 5 minutes. So a *normal* liquid cooling system will NOT keep 6GHz running! And to manage 8GB of RAM, you would need about that much processor. And unless your HDs are external, then how the hell do you have 8 SATA ports?
I'm pretty sure that that is a made up computer.

You definitely learn something everyday.
Sesstreets reply was quite humorous. ;)

It's good to see that someone around here knows how to work the interwebs. I hate when one of my internets goes down, as I, too, use the Spider Web constantly. Intel is the biggest problem here, because they are constantly turning off my browsers and breaking my roter box. I was really disappointed when Intel started making Macintoshes because that means that they will start crashing and getting hacked too. But that is beside the point. They should have less than 20 people on every server because otherwise the tubes will get clogged and we will all have no servers to see our sites.
Oh and I have you beat my computer is running now for four years. I use liquid nitrogen to cool it.
