Hi All. I'm trying to get going with phpNuke v8.0. The problem I'm having is installing it in the root directory. The installation instructions guide toward an installation in a folder called html.

What I've done so far is installed it according to the instructions (into the html folder) and the site was functioning as expected.

Then, I entered into the preferences dialogue and changed the location of the installation to point to the root directory - as opposed to the html folder.

Next, I moved all the folders and files on the html folder into the root driectory.

Everything seemed to be working well...except now I'm not able to access many, if not all the functions, in the admin panel; e.g., if i try to access the preferences page, I am redirected to the admin login - even though I'm already logged in and at the admin.php page.

Any ideas on what other changes I need to make to make this take hold in the root directory?

Or, should I simply try and install the phpNuke installation from the root directory to start off with; i.e., remove all the files and folders from the html directory and place them into the root directory BEFORE proceeding with the installation?

find this article useful..

NB: If you would like to manually install phpNuke in the main directory of your website (and not in a subfolder), all you need to do is to upload phpNuke files in the ‘public_html’ folder of your website.

I loaded the phpNuke 8.0 files to the server's root directory, connected to the database and executed the SQL file to create the database tables.

Again, I am at the same point as yesterday. The home page looks fine, and I can log in to the admin area. But, when I try to use the admin functions I am redirected to the admin login page. After logging in I am back where I started;

Is there a file, or files, I can modify to correctly point to the installation's location to fix this? I'm guessing this is the problem, or something similar, since the installation works well when installed into the default folder called html.

I have installed all my phpnuke in root without any problem and have done the same way you mentioned above.

Do you have every file and folder that is in html in your root?
As you need to have all them in root.

If you check my sites in my sig one is in root and one is in folder.
