Sorry for posting again, not sure if the forum will be able to restore previous posts.
Thanks to everyone for answering my question earlier. However, I did print out the answers. I didn't have time last night.:o
I would like to know the steps to upload pics in coppemine. I understand to FTP, just want to know which folders they should go in.
Thanks again,
Barbara

-FTP into your site, then go to /public_html/yourgallery/albums/uploads/
-Put your pics in this folder. (see note below)
-Now go to your admin in Coppermine an click "Batch Add Files".
-Click on the "uploads" folder and you should see all the files you put there.
-Click on the little square OK button. This will take you to the next step where
you can see thumbnails on the right. On the left, make sure all the checkboxes are checked.
-Select which album via the drop down box at the top right.
-Go to the bottom of the page an click "Insert selected files"
You should now see a page that will tell you if the images loaded into the album OK.
NOTE: You can create any folder structure you want for your pics. For example, under the Albums folder you can create any number of folders to seperate the subjects or themes of your images. This comes in handy when you are going to have a large number of images in your gallery. It's much easier to batch add 20 pics to a small folder than to add 20 pics to a folder with 300 images that are already there from last time. You can easily create a new folder within the FTP program.
Hope this helps...

Why not just go to edit mode and create album and upload photos?

Why not just go to edit mode and create album and upload photos?
Sounds like Bluemoont is trying to add batches of files at once through admin and the above steps were for that.
@lex:
Is what you are talking about here relative only to a single user trying to upload?

Sorry I didn't get back sooner, I was out of town. Thanks for responding. I was orginally interested in uploading a batch. But now I'm interested in learning bout the edit mode, in case I want others to add pics.

To let users add their pics there are a few options that need to be set.
In your admin panel of Coppermine go to:
1 - Config ->User settings. Configure these settings to allow new user registration, admin notification, etc.
2 - Groups. Configure the line with group name "Registered". Here you can force all user's uploads to be approved by you...or not. Also set the number of pics they can upload at once, etc. (you can also allow anonymous users to upload pics if you don't need them to be registered)
When the new user logs in they can upload new pics. You have the option as admin to make them all upload to the same album or let them have a personal album.
If you need more help just post. That's what we're here for.

User registration requires email verification
If set to YES an email will be sent to the user that will contain a code to activate his account. If set to NO, user accounts become immediately active.
I can't figure out if the email is going to spam or where it is going. I am not sure what address it is using to check it. Can you help with this? Everything else is working great!
