Keep guess from seeing the board )phpbb)

Is there anyway I can keep the guess from seeing anything on the phpbb board? How I can make it so that the only thing a guess sees when they come to my board is login page? I want to completely shut guess out.

Go into the phpBB Admin Control Panel under Forum Admin click Permissions. Then for each forum that you do not want guests to see set the permission to "Registered [hidden]" in Simple Mode. You can do more in Advanced Mode but this is the easiest way.

In general it's good to have a few "public" viewable forums so new people can decide if they want to join. Also search engines can't index anything that isn't public so all that they'll be able to index is your meta data.

Yep! phpBB is still the best forum out there if a wee bit CPU heavy. If you tie Registered[hidden] and Private[hidden] in with Member Group Permissions you can run a single forum that works like many sharing a singl database :) It will even run itself if you choose the right mods :cool:
