Hello,

There were a couple of things I wanted to change about the SMF forum template I've just downloaded. I spent a day playing with the code within bluehost, the changes looked great, but basically it renders the forum unusable. So I am starting over and figured I could use some help from others who've tried this. I know more about HTML than I do PHP, so I hope I can remedy this problem somehow.

I only wanted to change a couple things: 1) add an image to the top and make it link back to the website, and 2) change my domain name that comes up by default (at the top of the page) to a forum heading. What is the easiest method of doing this, by using Dreamweaver, then uploading the files again? I also had a hard time finding templates that were compatible with the new 1.1.3 upgrade SMF wants us to get. The one I have seems to work though. Thank you for your assistance!

Go into the Admin => Configuration => Themes and Layout and hit the "Modify Themes" link. You can edit both the template and style sheet here. The only other thing that you'll need to do is upload your image using FTP or the CPanel.

Just be sure to make a backup of whatever your changing in case something goes wrong.

Alternatively you can edit the templates and style sheets directly using CPanel.

Good luck! :)
