Let's say my main bluehost domain name is xxx.com and it's a blog which uses b2evolution. The homepage is located at /public_html/index.html

Now, I also have a second domain yyy.com which uses WordPress.

All the yyy files are located under the /public_html/yyy/ folder.

If I convert the main xxx.com into a web forum like vBulletin, what risks are there in yyy.com getting trashed?

technically it will not affect the yyy.
as /yyy is not simply a folder. And its a addon domain...
and for sample the .htaccess for this folder for the wordpress will work just fine. without being effect by the main domain changes

just make sure during the installation, not to overwrite the yyy.
