Fantastico upgrade of Wordpress messed up blog

I'm really upset. I used Fantastico to upgrade my blog to 2.2 and it totally messed up my content. There was no warning message so I didn't know to check if this would be ok. Any suggestions on how to easily clean up my post content. There are garbage characters in it. Thanks

i come across this problem in other forums.
and what you need to do is to manually upload the 2.2.1 and get it setup.

once uploaded... visit yourblog.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php will upgrade your site

It's already upgraded. Problem is that all the blog content is hosed. I put up a temporary page until I get it fixed. Hopefully, it won't happen ongoing. Thanks for your help.

My site will no longer display the sidebar widgets, which is a very large part of my site's content.

Any ideas?

for widget.. check the compatibility of the widget. make sure its supported in wordpress 2.2.1

the upgrade screwed up my content. what's doubly frustration is that it shows up differently on my computer than other computers and I can't figure out why. have you made any headway on this, Lyonsden?
