Hello!
I am completely overwhelmed with trying to set up a web store through bluehost (basically have no clue, but thought I could learn as I go since I have some html experience). I understand the basic concept of putting my files in the html_public folder and then uploading them; however, I don't know what program to use to format my html adequately before I do that. In addition, I don't know what else I need to do to get my files ready for upload.
Then there is the question of setting up a shopping cart, which I am sure is down the road, once I have my product files in place. So much to do and no idea how to make it all happen. ANYWAY...I have decided to redirect my domain name to amazon webstores so that I could snap in my products and get set up quickly.
Amazon webstore gives the following directions on how to redirect my domain name:
> Locate the appropriate section of the account management console for advanced DNS settings.
> Delete all existing A records that point to your main domain and @. Do not delete A records for subdomains, such as mail.domainname.com.
> Create two new A records that point your domain (mydomain.com) to 207.171.166.53, and 72.21.206.30.
> Create a CNAME record that points the subdomain "www"; for your domain to storefront.amazon.com.
I contacted tech support to do this but somehow it has not been completed after three emails to them...I am probably confusing them by not being specific enough??
If anyone out there knows how to help me perform these actions, please advise.
In addition, after visiting this forum, I have a bit more confidence about perhaps buidling another webstore with one of the other domain names I have registered with bluehost. Any advice on how to get going with this would be most helpful.
Thank you, in advance, for your prompt replies!
