Connect with remote sql

I'm trying to connect to my sql database from a remote machine and I don't seem to be getting anywhere.... I've added my home IP to the remote sql list in the cpanel (i've also tried the whole ip block using the wildcard), and It's not letting me connect.

I haven't been able to find the information anywhere about what i should be connecting to as well (istead of 'localhost'). I've tried my domain name, as well as the ip i get in PHPAdmin... is there something i'm missing??

well, just after i posted this i think i found my answer.

1. Log into your control panel
2. Click on 'Update Billing Info'
3. Click on 'Update Now'
4. Click on 'Edit Preferences' under 'Customer Preferences'
5. Select your IP address under 'Add'
6. Click 'Save Changes'

I'll have to wait for this to propagate through and see if it works.... it would be nice if this was made a little bit more clear under the 'remote mysql' section....
