I want to change my main domain to the one thats my current parked domain.
Main: war-herald.com
Parked: war-heraldic.com
I need it to be-
Main: war-heraldic.com
Parked: war-herald.com
What would doing this entail? How is there any risk to my website (probably not thanks to bluehosts fantastic backup service).

Best bet is to call support, or do a live chat. If your site is >4gb, do a back up on your own!

I believe that once your account has been activated under one name, you cannot change that.

Maybe create an add-on domain, move your files there, and then have all links to your old site forwarded to the new site?

You can do this, but you have to talk with support to have them do it for you. You will lose all your current settings including databases. It will be like it was when you just opened your account with BlueHost, right from scratch. Back it all up and start over.

maybe i'm missing the point here, but a parked domain just points to the exact content of the main domain. There's nothing to move around. The visitors don't care what the domain is(main or parked), whichever they type it all goes to the same content.
