Hi everyone,

I am new here. I just purchased a bluehost account.
My CPanel is not working at all and it is very frustrating. Does anyone know whether there is a problem or not?
Is it "normal" to have such problems or is it (hopefully) a temporary problem that is being attended to???
Thanks for your answers.

Use live chat. Located at bluehost.com, bottom left corner.

How is it not working? Does it let you login and then fail? Or not let you login?

Are you using the username that BlueHost gave you? This is usually a little different than your domain name.

What URL are you using? Try https://YOURSERVER.bluehost.com:2083 if not already, where YOURSERVER is box100, or whatever yours is.

Hi Guys,

thank you very much for your answers.
I used the live chat and we found out that it isn't working when I use my usual browser Internet Explorer (IE).
It seems it works better when I log-in thru Mozilla but still there are some minor errors occuring.
With IE it is no fun. Most of the time I get error pages (page not found / page cannot be shown), in other words dead ends. Is it a typical problem between bluehost and the Internet Explorer???

Meanwhile I will go thru Mozilla and see what I can do.

If you have any further suggestions, tips and tricks please feel free to inform me.
Perhaps it is a good sign when you start off with loads of problems. It might shorten your learning curve :-)!
Again thanks a lot!

Karima:D

I really appreciate seeing that. You see, as web standards matured over the past 5 to 10 years, most of the popular browsers tried to keep up: Mozilla, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Konqueror, ...
But one browser just ignored the standards (until very recently) and did their own thing--Microsoft Internet Explorer.

And since a majority of customers used IE, many companies just made their web sites look good in IE and ignored the standards. This included banks with online banking. As if ignoring standards isn't bad enough, we who use an operating system better than Windows couldn't use any browser that made those broken web sites look readable. When we would call to complain that their web sites were broken, they would tell us, "We only support IE." Stupid.

But now you are saying that you can't use some site with IE, but Mozilla mostly works! I like that. :D

BTW, Mozilla and Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/) are separate browsers, and Firefox is much more popular. Also, Opera (http://www.opera.com/) is a very impressive, fast browser. Each of these are available for all popular platforms.
