Addon domains and subdomains?

Hi,

I'm not sure how to phrase this so maybe someone can help me out with the terminology. I'm trying to add a subdomain to BH from a domain that is not currently being hosted or registered at BH. Ok..that wasn't such a good description..maybe i'll just explain my current situation and what i want the end result to look like.

For example, I have a domain called mydomain.com which is hosted and registered at BH. I have another domain called mydomain2.com which is registered and hosted elsewhere (ie. not BH). I want to create a subdomain for mydomain2.com (eg. mysub.mydomain2.com) but have it hosted at BH instead of my the same place where I have www.mydomain2.com. Is this possible?

You must create your subdomain on your other host and set it to redirect to a domain/subdomain at bluehost.

I am able to create my subdomain entry at the other host, but it requires me to point to an IP at BlueHost. How would I create an entry for this subdomain on the BlueHost side?

You should have a subdomains module in cPanel.

with addon domain at BH, you can run 999 unique website from your single account. Each website with own WWW.

your domain can be register from any registrar.
What you need to do is change the nameserver to point it to
ns1.bluehost.com
ns2.bluehost.com

wait for propagation. Done.
