Is there something going on with mysql configuration at bluehost? All of my databases disappeared and all the db users are gone. phpmyadmin is not accessible. Hopefully somebody here can shine a light on this issue.

I am on box 113.

regards,

Anna

OK looks like the issue has been resolved. Apparently. the server was rebooted and it took mysql process a little longer to start.

Our site is also on box 113 (dedicated IP). The database was down for 2 hours. When I phoned tech support, it took them 15 min (while I was on hold) to confirm what I told them (no one was aware of the problem - and I was first told it was a problem in my code!). Apparently BH was doing maintenance on the box. My guess is that when they brought the server and DB back up, they didn't properly test to make sure that everything was ok. Why it went unnoticed for 2 hours is another issue. This is the 3rd major problem on that box this month with major downtime.

Box 113 (server and database) is down again. Has been down for some time. This problem has occured 1-2x per week for the past few weeks, I have tried to address it with tech support and receive the standard "we are monitoring servers, applications and databases" (no response when I ask why it takes 2 hours and it is the customer, not the server admin, who identifies that the database is down).

And down again today. Just spoke to TechSupport and they are now investigating an account on this box that causes unusually large load and crashes the server. Let's hope BH becomes more aggressive with monitoring sites that excessively use server resources because these do not belong in a shared hosting environment but probably in a VPS environment.
