Okay, I had my first website done for me and it is up and running. I am trying to create a second website by myself with nvu. I went to the bluehost support page and it gave me this answer: Here is the publishing information you will need for NVU.

Click on publish:

Under Publish Tab:

Site Name: <CAN BE ANYTHING YOU WANT>
Page Title: <CAN BE ANYTHING YOU WANT>
Filename: index.html (if index.html is the name of your main home page)

Check the box that says: "Include images and other files".

Under Settings Tab:

HTTP Address:

http://www.yourdomain.com/

Publishing Address:

ftp://yourdomain.com/www/

Username: yourusername (8 character short version of your domain)
Password: password for your hosting account

Now, the problem I'm having is this, I've tried that using website2 for both addresses, that didn't work. I've tried it for http address website2 and publishing address website1, that didin't work. I'm using the username and password that I have for my website1 account. Website2 is an addon. When I try to publish, I get a 530 login authentication failed. What am I doing wrong?

In the FTP address you should be using the actual FTP: address (numeric) address of the server you're on (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx). You can get those numbers from your account information after you login to the control panel.

This might be simple enough to have been overlooked, but in a Linux system UPPER vs lower case is important. Be sure you're entering things properly in regards as how they were created, especially passwords.

Aside from this have you called tech support?
