I'd like to hear your opinion about adding lines like this to .htaccess:

ErrorDocument 400 http://www.ic3.gov/
ErrorDocument 403 http://www.ic3.gov/
ErrorDocument 404 http://www.ic3.gov/

The intent is to send anyone attempting to access protected or non-existent files off to the Internet Crime Complaint Center.

really? How so? That certainly would not be my intent!
This does not send email, it merely directs their browser to the cyber crime reporting website. Also, it should only happen when someone tries to access a location on the site that either does not exist, or is protected.

About 99%+ of those errors are caused by minor system problems or people miskeying addresses. The vast majority of people that you redirect will have been trying to reach a legitimate page on your site and will be completely lost wondering why they end up on that other site instead. If you send too many people then you will be using huge amounts of that sites bandwidth to no purpose and they will start investigating why your site is stealing so much of their bandwidth.

A page on your own site for those errors with perhaps a link to thatt site would be a better solution than trying to link there directly.

Thanks, I guess that makes sense... I don't get that much traffic, but I went ahead and deleted the offending error code anyway.
