    Default Web Development Software

I have a 25 page business site I have used for years and developed using MS Publisher. I realize this is an imperfect tool. I want to use forms and that requires Frontpage extensions which are a pain and MS is no longer supporting. I suppose it is time for me to rewrite the site using a current piece of software. I do not write HTML but am computer litterate. I also have a blog at blogspot. What program would you suggest to rebuild my site? Is Wordpress an option? I know it is blogging software but heard I could use it to create my website. Thanks for any suggestions.

If you want to work on the site on your own computer then NVU is probably the best free option. If you want to buy software to do it then either Dreamweaver or Microsoft Expression Web.

WordPress allows you to create static pages to add to your blog or you could look at a full content management system such as Joomla.

Wordpress is an excellent option as a CMS, it does need some customization to be used this way, but there are many plugins available to make setting up Wordpress as a CMS as easy as possible.

Have a search on Google for "wordpress as cms" and you will find a lot of information on what is required to make Wordpress work in this way, but only you will be able to judge whether your skill level is up to setting up Wordpress in this way.

WordPress does require that you directly edit the PHP and stylesheet code if you want to change the appearance of your pages from that supplied by your chosen theme so unless you want a site that will look almost the same as lots of other people's you will need a good knowledge of stylesheets to be able to properly set it up to look the way you want.
