Thread: How to back up special folder over 2Gb?

    Default How to back up special folder over 2Gb?

    I use bluehost and i see 1 issues :

    If this folder : public_html/shop are big per months and now it is 2Gb.I allway backup by myself per months by Puty (tar cvzf xxx.tgz public_html/shop).

    Now it was too slowly to backup by that way!Any one know another way to backup?

    If you are compressing the file through the BH server, you are limited by the server speed and remember that you are likely sharing that box with 500 other users (give or take). 2 GB is quite a large file so I would suspect that it's going to take some time to execute that process.

    Would it be possible to break into chunks or only archive select files?

    I expect way like control panel/backup ->i can download only
    Also,i just need public_html/shop as special folder to backup with my account.That is my business.
