I have the exact same problem - love the site, hate the batch add. It is the only thing that gives me any problems. I have been with other hosts and NEVER had that problem. I am not sure what the issue is. Maybe I should have done my own install instead of fantastico. But, 7,000 photos later is a bit late to re-do.
