    Unhappy Awstats Unresolved IP

why do my awstats not resolve IPs under the "Hosts (top 25) section?

all of them are listed as unresolved.

Working OK on mine, so I suspect that something is misconfigured with awstats on your server. It's almost certainly not something you can fix. You should probably submit a ticket about it, and if you don't hear anything back in a few days, hit Live Chat.

(Does Webalizer have the same problem?)

Under your /tmp/awstats directory, find the .conf fine and change DNSLookup=0 to DNSLookup=1

If you have a bunch of sites I would suggest downloading a text replace tool such as BKReplaceEm http://www.snapfiles.com/get/bkreplace.html

However from a tech I have been told and I have just experienced that the files are often overwritten by various server maintenance activities.

A suggestion for all I would ask that people email sales and have them relay it forward that we would like the option left on to make stats more useful. There is always using google stats as a free add on, but that is besides the point... http://www.google.com/analytics/

If you chmod the awstats.yoursite.com.conf file to 444, it won't get overwritten.
