    Default waiting for search engines...

I registered my website few weeks ago on google and also hit the registration link provided by Bluehost... this is taking forever to find out where I come up on the search engines. Is there a way to push it through??? The worm that hit my pc was a jillion times faster than this!

If you don't mind me putting in a little plug, the website is

    www.ssironsides.com

I used publisher pro to build it, I would take any advice on improvements and especially how to get it to the top on search engines

    Thanks

    Scott

Just wait. You might turn up on the next update.

Promote as much as possible, get links on decent sites and you'll begin to appear. Make sure you've got decent meta keywords (I know google doens't use it, but it probably doens't hurt).

I've *heard* that a google sitemap can help, but your best bet is through decent content. That (as far as I know) is still the best way to get indexed fast, and well.

Sites get listed once they are found by following links from other sites. Where they get ranked will depend on the number and relevance of the incoming links.

Manually submitting your site has no real impact on this process at all unless you have no incoming links to help your site be found in which case about six months after you submit your site you will get added to the bottom of the search results - possibly thousands or even millions of pages into the results.

Well, I guess I'm SOL huh...

I'm planning on getting this turned over to an IT guy and an internet junky. He was the guy who thought I could make this thing work to begin with. 30k into this project and nobody will ever know about me...

How do I get people I don't know to post links to my page to promote my product?

Welcome to the world of promotion and SEO. I'm sorry to say there's by no means any easy solution. You can use all sorts of methods to try improve the quantity of visitors to your website, but in reality, quality is best.

You could hire a SEO company to list you higher in search engines, or try other methods of promotion.

Sorry, I was a little taken by this quote:

just got back from vacation and I hoped to find a solution from a late poster...

Yes, I did say 30K Between patent application, attorney fees, tooling, product, packaging, mileage, marketing, local advertising, software etc... If I counted time spent you could tack on even more.

I'll try looking around for ways to promote the site. Thanks

Hey Scott, I have a business related blog called Weath Store www.wealthstore.com. I can help you do a little site promotion if you want. I could use some invention stories. This will help my blog get an invention story, and help you promote your site. We both win.

I'll do a fake site review (real opinions) of your site real quick. That will get your name out and some back links.

I can do an "interview" with you about you invention via email too if you would like. Let me know.
