Is the BH server set up to prevent directory listing or does one need to do this through his htaccess file?

Either .htaccess or via the Index manager in the Advanced section of cpanel (which will update the appropriate .htaccess for you).

Restore time shown when Server Goes Down
Going to your HelpDesk Web-site I observered the message "Restore 30% complete" . However, approximately 35 minutes later I checked the Web-site again the message still said "Restore 30% complete". Something is wrong!
