(yet another) Mailing list question
I have searched and read all about the limits and other things before I asked. I am hoping someone can suggest some software. Maybe there is script that BlueHost offers all ready.
I am going to move my Business to site here as a subdomain under my existing web site. I want to send out a monthly Newsletter. Well under the 500 email limit, I expect it will never be over 125 members.
I have looked at DaDa mail but I think I would prefer to write it Word and email it from there. Main thing I am looking for easy Opt-Out and Opt-in options for the members.
If I am reading it correctly DaDa offers that?
Is there a Mailing List script on the site waiting to be installed that will do what I want already? If not any suggestions on one?

ya, seem like dadamail is what you need.
i can handle opt in and opt out for member.

You will need to ask support to increase your mailing limit before you try to send to the 125 since the default hourly limit is 50. They only increase the limit to 500 for those who ask for it.

Installing?
Going to try Dadamail. Now looking at auto install feature I have one question I don't see answered. Where do I install it? Can I just put in a folder named DADA or do I need to install it in the CGI bin? I assume the CGI bin? Then a subfolder there?

Before I moved to Bluehost, I manually installed Dada Mail and always set it up in http://www.yoursite.com/cgi-bin/dada.
Before you do the SimpleScript Dada installation, I would suggest you go to MySQL Databases in your CPanel and create a database and user first. That way, you can edit anything with phpMyAdmin knowing the name and user of the database you created. If you don't manually create the database first and allow the SimpleScript install to automatically create the database for you when it install DadaMail, it apparently won't show up under phpMyAdmin.
So, using SimpleScripts to install DadaMail, where it shows:
Where would you like DadaMail installed?
type cgi-bin/dada/ after the domain name you are choosing.
In Advanced Configuration, I would uncheck both Generate me an Administrator Login and Automatically create a new database.
Hope this helps!

Dang, this is annoying! Used simple scripts to install DADA mail. Now when I try to to go the admin page all I get is it downloading mail.cgi file. And to make it worse I wasn't paying attention, told it to open with Firefox and not it gets in a loop and I have shut down the computer to get out of it.
I tried it IE and it does the same thing, minus the loop that is. It just downloads the mail.cgi file. Obviously simple scripts doesn't work to as implied.
