    Default Using webdisk function

    Hello,

I apologize if this has already been discussed.

I have a Power Mac G5 with OS 10.4. After getting everything setup with bluehost.com I am trying to use the webdisk function from cpanel. Everytime it downloads the file and I double click. It first asks if I want to run the file and I click ok. Then it pop's up and says "Some parameter wasn't understood" and I just click ok.

Is there anyway to fix this issue? I have talked with tech support and the quick reply is "webdisk does not work on all computers." Kinda find that hard to believe when I am able to select the right OS version. Feel like the issue is on their part?

    Any input would be nice!

    Thanks,

    Mike

Probably not what you want to hear, but I could never get it to work with Vista.

    Default kinda bogus

I dunno, I feel like that's kind of a crappy deal. If your telling me that it's not working with your Vista and it won't work with OS 10.4 Then why do they advertise it? The attitude I got from the tech support was your systems not compatible; Just use the unlimited ftp program. Well that thing sucks in my opinion. Reminds me of something out of Windows 3.11.

    Oh well

Well, it didn't work on my system either, and I use IE6 on a PC.

Sometimes the gimmicky things just don't do the job, and sometimes when they work, they don't work well. Another example is TinyMCE Advanced. It works somewhat for me, but I eventually dropped it and just stick with straight HTML. At least I know that if something doesn't look right on one of my web pages, it is something I did and can fix, and I don't have to worry and wonder if it is a system problem, an IE problem, a TinyMCE problem, or whatever.

Maybe you should consider downloading Filezilla. That's a free FTP program that is simple to use and that you can rely on working right. Yeah yeah, I know, another program to learn, but it is reliable, effective, and worth the effort in the long run.
