shell access... ummm... how do I get it?
OK, I uploaded my photo ID through CPanel almost 2 weeks ago and still no shell access.
I am getting caned by CPU Quota exceeded messages, and I have removed as many possible causes as I can to no avail - I really need to see what's going on under the hood to delve deeper. Without shell access this is pretty much impossible.
Does the application section in CPanel no longer apply? Has anyone been granted shell access lately? Or am I wasting my time asking?
When I provided my ID, I got shell access within a few minutes. You need to contact BH to find out why you don't have it.
Chances are that when you submitted the request through CPanel, the ID attachment didn't come through or was unviewable.
If that's the case, Support would have replied asking you to resend it or upload it to your account and provide them with a link. This response would have been sent to the email address that you have on file with them.
Otherwise, you would have received an email about shell access being enabled. (You may want to check your junk/spam mail to be sure you didn't miss it.)
