Angry Having PROBLEM installing VBULLETIN forums....

    Hi Bluehost.

I'm having a problem insalling the vbulletin forums on my site. Here is what I tried(which is not working).

    *Opened "Upload" folder
*Created a folder in my main directory named "forums"
*Transfered the files in the "upload" folder in the "forums" folder I created
*after transfer was completed i typed "www.mydomain.com/install/install.php"
*..... NOTHING happened. I just got "404 Not Found The requested URL /install/install.php does not exist."
*afterwards, i moved my "forums" folder with all of the file in it to the "public_html" folder and tried it again...... still NO LUCK.
    *then tried "www.mydomain.com/public_html/install/install.php........STILL...... NO LUCK.

Is there something i'm missing here????

If you are trying to install from the "forums" folder then you need to include that in your address. If the forum folder is sitting inside your main directory it would be "www.mydomain.com/forums/install/install.php"

Alright, I seem to be having the same problem as well. I tried what the above poster suggested and it was still a no go, is there something I'm doing wrong?

1DarkAngel is correct in the information that they have provided you with.

If you need help, please do not be shy about the information that you give us. You told us the folder that you uploaded it to, but didn't even give us your actual domain name so that we could go to your site and potentially take a look at it and try to help you figure it out.

Please provide us with more information and we'll be more happy to try and help you resolve this.

Okay so I uploaded the zip file to my domain with is meetmeintheislands.com and unzipped it there which unpacked the upload folder. the home domain is meetmeintheislands.com/home1/meetme1. I renamed the upload forums to forums and then put the url meetmeintheislands.com/home1/meetme1/forums/install/install.php and no luck.

GoDaddy as the registrar should not be a problem but the domain is currently parked there. Did you transfer the domain to BlueHost or simply change the name servers to Bluehost servers using the GoDaddy domain manager? If you changed the name servers at GoDaddy then it didn't stick.

If you're doing a transfer, that could take a few days so that may be it. It was about five days for me to transfer from Network Solutions to GoDaddy just recently. I never tried transferring a domain to Bluehost but the timing should be about the same.

I transferred around two weeks ago using bluehost, do I maybe have to transfer on godaddy as well? I'm really confused on what to do know and I just want to get this thing up and running.

So far, nothing has been transferred. That domain is registered with Godaddy, which is not really a problem. You can have the domain registered with any registrar, but host the pages anywhere you like.

What is a problem is that the nameservers for the domain are listed as:

    ns57.domaincontrol.com
    ns58.domaincontrol.com

In other words, there is nothing that tells the rest of the world that the domain is hosted on BH. You need to go to Godaddy and change the nameservers for the domain to:

    ns1.bluehost.com
    ns2.bluehost.com
