    Default Domain Name

    Dumb question here, we totally screwed up when getting the name for our website, and were wondering if ther's any way to change it.

    Please help

    You can't actually change a domain name once you get it. All that you can do is to buy another domain name and not renew the one you don't want when it expires.

    Actually, there is an ICANN-regulated five day grace period in which you can abandon your domain for a full refund. I'm not sure whether Bluehost supports this, though, or how you would go about getting the refund.

    I thought the 5 day grace period was abolished a while ago because it was being abused by some registrars who used to register any domains people queried through their lookup service so as to stop it from being able to be bought through a different registrar.

    Actually, you might be right. Either it's been passed already, or it's still a proposal. This was the latest I could find on the subject:

    I suppose it's still worth a try to contact Bluehost and see if you can get your money back.
